evil plants
OK, so Z is back to waking up every 90 mins or so..well, he usually sleeps for about 3 hours, then does that until we bring him into the bed, then sorta chills for a while. Maybe.
The upside is that I get woken up mid-dream a lot more, so I actually remember some of them. The one from this morning was trippy. Jen & I went home to visit my parents, and went to the house I grew up in (my dad still owns this house & rents it out now I think). There were these giant shrubs, as big as oak trees – I say “shrubs” because they grew like shrub/bushes with multiple non-branching stalks. Each stalk was kind of like bamboo except think of it like a bone finger with the next section growing out of the 2nd or 3rd join from the top…so every stalk ended in a sharp claw. And they were this really deep almost black shade of purple with maybe some green thrown in.
Anyway, so I see these plants and I’m like “shit, once they acquire a significant amount of biomass they’ll become sentient and start killing us!” I’m not sure why I was the only one that knew this – typical horror movie dream I guess. Another side effect was that the more of this stuff was around, the more telepathic everyone got, so I could push my thoughts into other people’s minds and stuff. But this is a *bad* thing because the more noticeable it becomes the more likely the plants are to start killing people. Maybe the telepathy is a side effect of them drawing thoughts into themselves to attain sentience? Who knows.
Anyway, at some point they start killing people, I think. There was a nice sense of overwhelming dread in the dream, but I wouldn’t call it a nightmare, I wasn’t scared or anything.
There was also something later on about a science experiment, but I can’t remember that.

Points for using the term “biomass” in a dream.
I’ll take what I can get. I’m still 97 points shy of a free personality makeover.
I love having dreams where some sort of technology or logic is completely self-contained. Meaning once I wake up, the airtight understanding is entirely gone. Like the time I dreamt an entire novel and – in dream logic – found it riveting and though I couldn’t remember the entire novel when I awoke, what I could remember was strange and David Lynch-ish.
