Chapter 8: finished!
Well, the rough anyway. After 6 months. And I sort of cheated in that 2 of the other things that needed to go in there are getting split off into separate chapters…but hey! It’s around 2300 words and 7 pages@12pt TNR single spaced…if you’re into that kind of thing. Certainly shouldn’t have taken me 6 months…but life is wacky these days. Those 2 chapters mean Act 2 will have a nice 5 chapter size like Act 1 though…I like that.

Explanation: As some of you know, I’m (attempting to) write a book. Slowly. It’s been about two years and I’m about 1/4 to 1/3 through the first rough. Luckily, life is long. My original goal was to finish before 30…that’s been pushed back to 32.
So, whenever I hit ANY kind of milestone I’m happy with myself. I’m hoping that making semi-public updates like this will goad me into working harder…we’ll see.
It’s nothing spectacular in scope – I’m not setting out to write the Great American Novel – just some basic, fun (I hope) genre fiction. What genre? Uh…”horror fantasy” maybe? I’m not sure really…whatever one is modern day + supernatural (Cthulu evils, were-critters, magic, etc. You know the deal.) – I suppose I should look that up. Not that it affects anything (marketing?) – the story just is what it is.
