A really strong episode, maybe the strongest so far. This dude (Harris Yulin, some guy I’ve never heard of that looks like a vet single episode actor) gives a great performance as a captured Cardassian. Beyond that, I won’t say what happens. It’s not quite as predictable as these things usually are. The ending kind [...]

This one was a little annoying to watch as everyone except Odo got mentalized by some alien “telepathic matrix” and started re-enacting some ancient mutiny. Basically, it was an excuse for them all to ham it up (persons of drama!) like there was no camera watching. BUT. On the bright side, they were hunting for [...]

This was a pretty well done episode in general. We meet another Gamma quadrant lifeform – this one a digital “puppy” that now lives in the computer system. I wonder if they’ll ever come back to that? I hope so. Lots of possibilities there. Diana Troy’s mom pops up, and hits on Odo and they [...]

I just haven’t felt like blogging lately. Luckily for you, my obsessive drive to document all things minuscule and pointless compels me to review everything I read these days. Maybe someday I’ll start reviewing tweets and FB comments. Or not. I suppose I could have posted these all as individual blogs but hey, I’m a [...]

This is at least 11 years old (if I find the date I’ll add it later). It popped into my head when I was reading something about past perception of the “cities of the future”. Certainly it was the internal cadence of “cities of <x>” that did the triggering work. It’s weird when something triggers [...]

this is a nice cover for Batwoman #0: The Batwoman character in general has been handled very well. Not to mention the art on the Batwoman arc in Detective Comics was brilliant. Maybe the only time I’ve ever been tempted to buy a Detective trade. I still may if I find it on sale somewhere.

Another done-in-one involving aliens with near-omnipotence. Seems to be a lot of those in the ST universe. Which is not really that hard to believe, all things considered. These particular aliens examine new species by physically manifesting as things that people imagine. Neat trick. Plus, you probably get stuck in lots of sexual situations, which [...]

Another split-plot episode. A-plot: Kira talking to some old man with lots of stories about relocating him, some kind of like thing with the value of one’s home and relocation and stuff. And Kira learns a lesson. CUT! Also, people don’t know how to set phasers for stun and almost accidentally kill old men. And [...]

OK, the B-plot here was the dumbest plot so far. I’m not even gonna go into it, other than to say that it was really dumb. The A-plot involved a young Bajoran girl thrust into a leadership position via the death of her parents, and now she’s stuck trying to negotiate with her group’s Hatfield [...]
