local recordstore is getting snooty when they fail to list Bruce Springsteen’s new album on their new releases list. Because, you know, he doesn’t have many fans left, probably won’t sell many records, or whatever. They had Franz Ferdinand and some other random indie band on the list for today. As of today (27th) the [...]

The pictures with less snow are from yesterday, when it was just getting started. We don’t have as many from today because it’s hard to get out there & get around…Jen just took the trash out (down the back stairs), and that was a mini-adventure. She did get to break in her new snow boots [...]

So one of the joys of old houses is (obviously) sewers!! When we bought this one, the inspectors found a problem with the main sewer line – ratholes and the like (Portland is evidently overrun with sewer rats). So the sellers paid for the repair of course BUT we had to wait potentially 6 months [...]

The first: I saw this dude (who had rather creepy posture) while I was waiting for the bus the other day. I didn’t get a chance to see his sign – I really wish I had. I wonder if it says something like “Need $$: lost/stolen bike!” Oh, and don’t forget the “God bless!” at [...]

It’s a crazy year for the Frenches. A good kind of crazy. The dice in my head (you know, like Mat from the Wheel of Time series? I’ve literally felt like that for the past month – it was maddening!) finally stopped rolling on Friday. And it was a pretty good roll. Everything went [...]

So, headed west on Broadway….one of those silly double-decker-clown-bikes. Guy is riding in the middle of the right lane. Right next to the bike lane. Next to the bike lane. FOR BIKES. He’s next to it, not in it. They made a special lane…just for his special ass, and he’s decided he’s too special even [...]

so yeah, another offer made…basically the day the place went on the market for the first time. will we get it? well, there is no sane reason why we wouldn’t – we offered exactly what the seller asked! yes, we are THAT tired of hunting. no, but seriously, it’s worth what they are asking, and [...]

So, yeah, haven’t posted much lately. I don’t have a whole lot of time to write, and what I have had this last week was spent working on a small guide for City of Villains – for the Crab Soldier archetype I mentioned in a previous post. Anyway, if you’re curious about that kind of [...]

So we met some friends of ours (hi Webers), and friends of theirs (hi Jason & Dirk) at the Soapbox, err Saucebook, Saucebox. Whatever. That’s right – we took our baby into a bar. And rocked that shit. Married couples & wobblers can still party. Oh yes we can. OK, so we didn’t party. I [...]
